This year’s theme, Immigration and Diversity–Crossroads of Cultures: Engine of Economic Development, explored the links between economic development, labor force needs and immigration policy. As a guest expert on the Peel Region team of delegates, Maureen discussed critical lessons learned in equipping municipalities to tap into immigrant populations that will increasingly be a force in their economic progress.
